That Silly Baby!

I went to the OB this morning for my first of two appointments this week - since I'm taking insulin for gestational diabetes, they do a non-stress test and check my amniotic fluid level twice weekly. Fun, eh?

This morning the baby was, of course, fine - squirming all over the place, not letting us find his heartbeat for more than a few seconds at a time, but they finally had enough of accelerations in his heartbeat to be done with the test. When we went for the ultrasound, we discovered that he is breech AGAIN. The little stinker. He couldn't make this easy and be cooperative and stay head down, oh no. Those brief days of him being in the right position were just a ploy to lull me into a false sense of security.

  1. My last two were both breech for most of late pregnancy. Well, the 3yo was sort of breech/transverse, with one arm over his head and another behind his back. (Which is just SO typical, now that I know him. Just cannot conform!)

But Ella (the 2yo) was stubbornly breech until hours before delivery (c/s for other reasons) when she flipped all 9lbs and 14 oz of herself during the drive to the hospital! It was like she realized it was time and decided to make herself presentable.

  2. I'm praying for you Beth, I would only switch at this point if you cannot trust your doctor but you're taking a chance with not being able to trust another doctor as well. I would be completely stressed about this, which isn't good for you or the baby.

The most important thing is that you and your baby remain safe.
Praying for you during this difficult time,
    Jessica
